The Vice-Prime Minister of Georgia, Minister of Regional Development and
Infrastructure Maya Tskitishvili and the representatives of local government solemnly opened in Mestia the rehabilitated building of the National Folklore Theater named after Leo Philphani.
“This is the cultural center, which will be a renewed home for residents of Svaneti, Mestia and above all, for the 90 years experienced ensemble “Riho”. The ensemble with its great future has the renovated building that will allow its many members to think over new plans, opportunities for expansion and development. The folklore center will become the favorite place for the residents as well as for the guests of Mestia,” said the Vice-Prime Minister, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure Maya Tskitishvili.
The folklore center as well as the summer amphitheater and an open parking lot have been fully rehabilitated. The territory adjacent to the building has also been arranged.
